Lagos is situated in the western Algarve a 50-minute drive from Faro airport. It blends traditional Portuguese culture and beautiful beaches with great tourist facilities. Lagos is a delightful historic town, surrounded by the ancient Moorish walls and overlooks a pretty harbour estuary.
Within the town centre, the streets and picturesque squares are home to an extensive selection of shops, restaurants, bars and coffee shops and the nightlife is equally varied, from small sociable bars to vibrant late-night nightclubs. Fresh local fish and produce can be bought from the market in the town and there is a good selection of super markets for all other needs on the outskirts of the town. Ponta da Piedade
Spectacular beaches, views and boating activities.
To the west of Lagos is the Ponta da Piedade headland, a series of highly weathered spectacular cliffs, grottos, arches, sea caves, which are regarded as the finest natural feature of the Algarve. A boat from the Lagos marina is a must to take to this beautiful area. 
Extending to the east of Lagos is the 4km long Meia Praia Beach, which is the longest sandy beach on the western side of the Algarve and recently ranked as the 11th best beach in the world in a British Airways survey. Unspoilt, with simple beach bars, plentiful sunbeds plus water sport facilities for the more energetic.

The Lagos Marina, full of boats, overlooked by restaurants and bars is situated between the town and Meia Praia, it provides an ideal place to eat out of town or just have a coffee and watch the world go by. Boat trips to the caves and for dolphin watching leave each day from the Marina.

Golf to enjoy all year round
The Algarve is renowned for its excellent golf courses 5-minutes from the villa there is the spectacular Onyria Palmares golf course, that has public access almost every day of the year. Ranked number in 2 in the Algarve, its 27 holes are both challenging and beautiful, a links and parkland course set in a spectacular seaside setting.
Other courses within easy reach are Boa Vista, 18 holes in a less rural setting to the west of Lagos and to the east Penina which is widely renowned as the true home of Portuguese golf in the Algarve, and the well know Vilamoura and Quinta de Lago are just a 45min car journey.
